What does "per side" mean?

Some exercises require you to perform on both sides - it could be left & right, or if it is in an alternating manner then one side after another. Examples:

  • Twisting crunch: Twist your waist to left side and return to original position is counted as 1 rep. Twisting to the right side and back to original position is counted as another rep.

  • Alternating bird dog: Raising your left arm & right leg and return to original position is counted as 1 rep. Raising the other arm & leg and return to original position is counted as another rep.
